Everyone is talking about the new buzz in electronic signage, this being inside taxi electronic signage. Now it is going mobile.
One core issue with in cab dynamic signage has been the updating of media, the only options on the market was to either have a normal advertising head rest that you could update using a USB drive or a very expensive external wireless campaign player wired to the headrest, this would be renewed when all the cabs were back at the base. Now this has validated to be the reason why this technology has not boomed, but now there is an answer - a 3G headrest.

Now there is one solution out there that offers a mass of marketing chances from showing a route from your spot to your end spot with local marketing en-route in the headrest, to downloading markdown vouchers to your cell phone - read on to discover more.
3G Cab Marketing Head Rest.
The headrest comes in two sizes either a 7" or 8" screen both have an interactive touch screen and the unit has a built in speaker, as previously the ads player is built into the head rest.
All you need for the updates is a 3G flash drive that connects to the headrest and then you log in to the FTP computer to download new ads over the 3G network, the update is completed in less than 30 minutes with speeds of 1-3 Mbps.
So when a taxi driver knows he is on a lengthy solo journey to collect a passenger they can refresh the ads, for example if they are going to pick up someone from the airport.
Bluetooth Coupons to your cell phone!
Not only are they running on 3G, you can also send money off vouchers to your cell phone - seems impossible? Not really with the equipment at hand.
Here is the scenario, you are sat in the back of a yellow cab and being taken to your inn, you are hungry and you have been commuting for 4 hours then you see an advert for a steak restaurant. You tap the TV to start the video here you see all the tempting cuisine from the menu from appetisers to sweets and then on the next layer down you see an icon for "money off coupon", you tap the icon it then takes you to a third layer to "down load the token" via Bluetooth, you then get your mobile phone out and connect to the device and when the blue bar is full the download your mobile phone has a coupon on it. Now all you have to do know is tell the taxi driver to take you to the restaurant.
GPS locator with regional advertisements.
Intellectual cab GPS navigation system now with a twist! This module in the head rest enables the passenger to observe accurately where they are on the GPS route to their destination, the hardware then uses GPS to highlight ads along the route as well as rolling text.
On the toolbar at the bottom of the display you tap the GPS icon which takes you to the next layer, this then takes you to a display that displays pictures and video ads of your route, just touch and explore what is around you.
